4/24/12 JOHN CUSACK HOLLYWOOD STAR SPEECH

**************
If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. “Psalm 139:9-10 “Wenn ich auf den Flügeln der Morgenröte, steigen, wenn ich setzen sich auf der anderen Seite des Meeres, auch dort deine Hand mich leiten, wird deine rechte Hand mich festhalten. “Psalm 139:9-10 “Se eu subir coas ás da aurora, se eu resolver sobre o outro lado do mar, aínda alí a túa man me guiará ea túa destra me susterá. “Sal 139:9-10

12/1/10 DIRECTOR JAMES BROOKS & REESE WITHERSPOON, HOLLYWOOD

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”  2 Corinthians 12:9 但他對我說,我的恩典夠你用的,因為我的能力是在人的軟弱上完美的。

3/1/13 RICHARD BURTON FANS & RELATIVES & LOVED ONES SINGING IN WELSH AT HIS (post-humous) HOLLYWOOD STAR CEREMONY ST. DAVID’s DAY, HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA….so I attended this ceremony and took a few video clips…after words from various persons (read more below) as they moved to the unveiling of the star,a group in attendance began to sing in welsh      ( apparently many flew in for this ceremony) ….most (older) people know about Richard Burton’s acting career (nominated seven times for an academy award) & his relationship with Liz Taylor…apparently this is the 50th anniversary of Cleopatra (the most expensive film ever made at that time in history)….apparently 20th Century Fox helped make today’s star day happen…his daughters kate (apparently from his first marriage to Sybil, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kate_Burton_(actress) ) & maria (maria burton mckeown) were in attendance..I think they said it was the “adopted daughter”  (maria) who stood up and made a few comments (the other daughter apparently was sitting in front). Also in attendance and who said a few words was actor Michael Sheen (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Sheen ). There were several Welsh persons in attendance at the ceremony (and they sang in Welsh as the star was about to be unveiled) , as well as the British Consul General (Dame Barbara Hay), as well as the omnipresent Tom Lebong (L.A. city councilman) with his pumpkin bread gift (famous pumpkin bread from a hollywood monastery which he gives to every hollywood star recipient); which, I think, is baffling to some who don’t know the history of the monastery).
Lord Beddoe, president of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama,  mentioned that Richard Burton was buried with red socks on (apparently he considered red socks to be good luck) and he showed his own red socks; he also mentioned “Fern Hill” by Dylan Thomas, and Richard Burton’s reading of it. He also mentioned that Richard Burton was  “an avid rugby fan” and if he hadn’t become an actor he probably would have been a rugby player.
